My first blog post. Ever.

Hi guys!
I just turned the big 2-6. How can this be? I remember when I was just a little girl playing dress up…kidding, that was my Mom. My birthday present to myself this year was a list. I decided to compile 27 things I want to accomplish before I turn 27. This forces me to stop making “fake” plans and promises. You guessed it, number one on the list just so happens to be starting a blog.
My good friend Kelsi and I (I love pictures, this is your warning!)
1. Start a blog (woo! only 26 more to go)
2. Run a 10k and three 5ks
3. Learn how to braid my hair, and no I’m not talking about the classic braid. This girl needs some variety! I will have to enlist the help of my amazing sister, Jordan, who works at Skyline
4. Make a point to keep in touch with my family out of state more often (call, text, Facebook, send letters, anything really…)
5. Complete a photo-a-day challenge (in it’s entirety)
6. Go skiing at Snow Creek in Weston, MO
7. Start using reusable grocery bags
8. Volunteer my time
9. Earn a raise (mama needs some new shoes!)
10. Read more. First up on this list:ย Revenge Wears Prada and Banished: Surviving My Years in the Westboro Baptist Church
11. Grow a plant
12. Go on a mini vacation/weekend trip
13. Lose the last 10lbs my body is holding onto because I can’t stop eating cheese and bread-more on my weight loss journey to come
14. Have a movie marathon with my Dad, watching classics like The Breakfast Clubย
15. Start meditating once a week, even if it’s for 15 minutes (hummmmm)
16. Go to the drive-in movie
17. Save more money (I won’t go into all of the boring details of my finances, but I’ve got a number in my head and I’m going for it!)
18. Go to a concert at Grinders
19. Run/walk/jog/elliptical my way through 1,000 miles
20. Attend a trampoline class at Sky Zone in Kansas City and drag all of my friends along for the ride
21. Try a yoga class
22. Become CPR certified
23. Update the pictures in frames around my apartment
24. Get a skin cancer screening at the dermatologist
25. Attend a First Fridays in downtown KC
26. Make at least three of the many, many projects I’ve pinned on Pinterest
27.Write a letter to myself to read next year at this time
I hope you all have a great Monday! I’m going to pretend it’s Tuesday and see how that goes..

  1. I just turned 26 too! I think this is an exciting, inspiring and creative idea. I love to-do lists and could think of a few things right now that I would love to acheive by 27. Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Annie! Thanks so much for commenting. I’m slightly obsessed with to-do lists myself. It felt good to finally write down/commit to some of the things I’ve been putting off for way too long. I love looking at the goals other people have set for themselves as well, hopefully I’ll see your list soon! ๐Ÿ™‚
