Chicago Recap

If I had to describe our trip to Chicago this weekend it would look a little something like this: walk, eat, repeat. As evidenced by the images below.

best places to eat, drink and visit in chicago

Bear with me, after I got started, I realized these are in no type of order whatsover.

1. Blaze Pizza was right next door to our hotel and ended up being a lifesaver. They provided us with a fourth meal after our first attempt at dinner in the city failed miserably. I’m crossing my fingers that they decide to make their way to Kansas City soon!

2. Hotel selfie. And one of the only decent photos of the two of us from the entire trip.

3. We ventured over to Bull and Bear for brunch, which ended up looking more like lunch. Wings for Pete and truffle mac and cheese for me. We’re so predictable.

4. I loved how much greenery consumed the edges of the streets and sidewalks. It brightened up the city and made it feel so welcoming.

5. Jess mentioned Dose Market before we left on our trip and I knew I wanted to make it a point to stop by. The place was packed with so much goodness. I was especially fond of this tan bucket bag, but the crowd around the table was booming and I wasn’t able to squeeze in to snag a business card.

6. Obligatory shot of the bean.

7. We met up with Sarah and her boyfriend for dinner and drinks at Range in Lincoln Park and had the best time.

8. Glazed and Infused. Hands down the best sprinkled donut I have ever had in my life and trust me when I say, I’ve had a lot of sprinkled donuts.

9. I ordered a beer and the kids chicken tenders. I’m aware of how embarrassing this is for all parties involved.

10. We walked and walked and then walked some more.

11. Do you all remember Lily Dawson Designs from a few months back? I was so excited to see a familiar face at her set up for Dose Market. She had some great new pieces!

12. We closed out Saturday night with pitchers of green light beer with Sarah and her boyfriend at Homeslice and cabbed our way back to the Magnificent Mile.

13. The perfect setting to sit and enjoy a glass of juice and people watch.

14. Did you really think I was only going to get donuts once?! I had to go back for round two.

15. We decided to give Volare a try on our last night after someone recommended it to us. You can’t go wrong with homemade pasta and by the look on Pete’s face, he really enjoyed the steak.

16. Godiva truffles. Need I say more?

Not pictured: our first Flywheel class and some good ‘ol Chicago deep dish from Lou Malanti’s.

Whew. I’m exhausted just thinking about everything we did. I’m already looking forward to planning our next trip!
